Mission and Independence
PetCareHall's editorial mission is to provide pet owners with accurate, evidence-based, and practically useful information about pet health, training, nutrition, and care. Our editorial decisions are made independently of advertising, affiliate relationships, and commercial interests. No advertiser, sponsor, or affiliate partner has the ability to influence our editorial content.
Veterinary Review Process
Every health-related guide on PetCareHall is reviewed by at least one licensed veterinarian (DVM) or board-certified specialist before publication. Review focuses on clinical accuracy, appropriate caveats, and consistency with current AVMA and AAHA guidelines. Reviewers are independent contractors who have no financial stake in the site beyond their review fees.
Author Qualifications
Articles on PetCareHall are written or edited by individuals with relevant expertise in veterinary science, animal behavior, nutrition, or pet care journalism. We disclose author credentials within each article. Freelance contributors are vetted for qualifications before assignment.
Sources and Citations
We prioritize peer-reviewed veterinary literature, AVMA and AAHA guidelines, WSAVA standards, and direct consultation with board-certified specialists as primary sources. We cite FDA recalls and regulatory guidance directly from government sources. We do not use other pet blogs, magazines, or unverified internet sources as primary references.
Affiliate Relationships and Editorial Independence
PetCareHall participates in affiliate programs. Our editorial policy explicitly prohibits: (1) Recommending products primarily because they have higher affiliate commissions; (2) Omitting negative information about affiliated products; (3) Writing reviews in exchange for free products or payment. All affiliate relationships are disclosed. Affiliate income supports site operations but does not influence product rankings, ratings, or recommendations.
Correction Policy
When we identify or are alerted to an error, we: correct the content immediately; note the correction at the bottom of the article with the date; if the error was material, disclose the nature of the correction. We credit people who alert us to errors if they consent. Corrections do not apply retroactively to archived versions of pages.
Update and Review Schedule
Every guide is reviewed and updated on a quarterly basis at minimum. Guides covering topics with new research, product recalls, or regulatory changes are updated immediately. Each article displays its last-reviewed date in the article header.
Conflicts of Interest
Staff, contractors, and reviewers are required to disclose any financial relationships with companies or products covered in their work. Reviewers with a financial relationship with a product being reviewed are recused from that review.
User-Generated Content
PetCareHall does not currently publish user-generated reviews, comments, or testimonials. If we introduce such features in the future, they will be clearly labeled and moderated for accuracy and relevance.
